Sritha's Bio

Sritha specializes in SAT, ACT, and AP science, language, and math (e.g., biology, chemistry, physics, calculus, statistics, and reading comprehension). From 2018 to 2023, she was an instructor and part-time manager at a math and reading learning center, where she learned effective tools for teaching phonics, critical thinking, reading comprehension, and early learning skills. Having worked with elementary to college-aged students, she’s quick to assess learning gaps and adapt to meet the needs of students from various backgrounds and abilities.

She earned a BS in biomedical sciences with a minor in Spanish from Texas A&M University, where she was a microbiology teaching assistant and graduated with honors. “My time as a biochemistry teaching assistant was very rewarding, since when I had first taken the class, I was struggling very badly with the subject and feared I would have to drop it. By changing my study plans and organization, I finished so strongly that I was invited back as a peer mentor,” she shares.

Since graduating, she has worked as a medical assistant in a family medicine clinic while also tutoring SAT prep and AP courses. “My work allows me to combine my passion for education and mentorship with my interest in healthcare,” she says. In addition to tutoring, she’s working towards a master’s in radiation therapy at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

She fell in love with tutoring while volunteering at the learning center. What started as a weekly volunteering job quickly led to becoming a senior instructor and curriculum creator position. “I fully invested myself in the success and future of the students there,” she shares.

Sritha feels most proud when she witnesses students’ growing confidence. “My favorite moments are when students come back after taking a test we were preparing for and simply offer a thank you; it means so much to me that not only do I get to share a proud moment with a student, but that they also felt I had a part in that success. I can't be more grateful to have that kind of positive impact in their life,” she reflects.

“My teaching style is highly individualized, supportive, and interactive,” she offers. She creates a warm, open learning space where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Her goal isn’t to provide answers, but rather to help students understand the reasoning behind concepts so they can apply them independently. “It might sound counterintuitive, but I am a big proponent of trial and error; I have no problem explaining a topic 200 different times and 200 different ways because I want every student to know that I will try and try again to help and support them, and I won't stop until it clicks,” she explains. “Students are also incredibly keen on those patterns and oftentimes catch on to the explanation before I finish—it’s always rewarding to find the unique sweet spot.”

At A&M, Sritha received multiple service awards through Aggie Babes for completing over 100 volunteer hours annually and was selected to serve in leadership positions within several campus organizations, including president of “On to Medicine,” a specialized pathway into the A&M School of Medicine. Her Spanish-speaking skills and dedication to serving as a volunteer interpreter also earned her the Spanish Scholar Award. In high school, she was a competitive swimmer and part of the gardening club.

Currently, she loves swimming, exploring outdoors, and creative crafts like making her own clothes and decorating. “I also spoil my cats like crazy,” she adds.

Fun fact: “I lived on a goat farm last summer in Guatemala and did a work study as an English teacher for 8-year-olds.”
