Cameron's Bio

A physics graduate, video game developer, and aspiring astrophysicist, Cameron’s education has included advanced mathematics and physics with a focus on astronomy. Throughout his undergraduate studies, Cameron spent six years working with ongoing data science and documentation for several instruments attached to NASA spacecrafts. He holds an AGS from Johnson County Community College and a BS in physics from the University of Kansas. Since graduating, he has worked as an augmented-reality software developer, a science instructor, a video game developer, and a senior physics tutor.
As someone working towards a career in astrophysics and space science, Cameron’s path to teaching and tutoring others was a natural progression. “One of my proudest moments as a tutor was when a student with a learning disability gave me a gift at the end of the semester to thank me for the support I’d provided,” Cameron shares. For several years, Cameron has worked as a senior physics tutor at Johnson County Community College, tutoring advanced topics in mathematics and physics to college students and the occasional high-schooler. He has also worked as a private physics tutor for high school students, and as a performative mad science instructor for grades K-12 during the 2025 summer. Cameron has experience tutoring neurodivergent students and students with learning disabilities.
“I always try to meet my students on their level and relate the topics in question to something that makes more sense to them,” Cameron says. “Nothing is more frustrating than going somewhere to learn, only to be bombarded with higher-level jargon and leave more confused than when you arrived. I also try to encourage my students' critical thinking skills to lead them to the solutions themselves, something I feel reinforces their learning rather than just rote memorization.” Cameron finds that most of his students can make the connections themselves and just need a little nudge in the right direction.
During his undergraduate studies, Cameron spent six years working with ongoing data science for several instruments attached to NASA spacecrafts. He also worked on documentation and archiving for the Van Allen Probes, Voyagers 1 & 2, IMP-8, Cassini, and Galileo spacecrafts. While attending KU, he completed two undergraduate research projects, one involving analyzing bulk galactic data and one involving general instrument design. He’s also given a professional presentation at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Astrophysics Conference.

Currently, Cameron is working as an indie game developer and is in the process of founding his own game development studio. He is fluent in C#, Python, and TypeScript programming languages and also dabbles in astrophotography. When asked to share a fun fact, Cameron says, “I am an identical twin.”
